Back in Norway

Well then, it has been awhile since the last update. In fact, we've been back in Norway for a couple weeks now. Sorry for the lack of updates.

All in all, we had an amazing outreach! God has done amazing things in, around, and through us. I think we've experienced God's faithfulness, protection, and love in new and different ways! :) A final, official thank you to ALL who have kept the Thailand team in your thoughts and prayers! We saw and lived the answers to the prayers -- especially when it came to good health. We also saw how the people of Thailand have been touched through your prayers... many of them were so open and receptive to the Gospel! :D So thank you all once again for your all your support.

God bless!

flowers and funerals

Hello all,

A quick highlight...

On Monday we visited a hospital. Sol gave a crazy old laughing man a flower. The aforementioned flower must have looked so delightfully delicious and smelled oh so sweet, that this jolly old man decided to shove it in his mouth and eat it. We looked on in amusement as the nurses tried to pry the flower out of the laughing man's mouth.

Later at the funeral, 12 people got saved!

Today we travelled from Thoen to Bangkok on a very comfortable 8-hour bus ride. Tomorrow we're off to Pattaya! Please pray for our time and ministry there. Thank you!!!

Many blessings,
~Thailand Team

Updates!

Here's what's been happening lately...

About a week and a half ago, we went to a women's prison. It was totally obvious how God used our "five loaves of bread and two fish", the very little that we have, to do His work through. By the end of our program, 20 women made a stand to accept Jesus. And we could all see on their faces that God had truly done a work in them. Yay God! :D

The last 8 days, we've been in the "Jungle". We were in a Karen village called Noh Boh where we worked with our friend Sahr K' Tray To (sp??), or "Fredrik" as we called him (: hi Maria! :) It was fun having him and a couple others join us in our ministry!! From Noh Boh, we went to minister to other Karen villages. At the last village we went to, 15 people got saved!

To those who are praying, THANK YOU!!! We are seeing the affects of your prayers all the time. All in all, we've been quite healthy... but lately there has been a little dehydration and flu symptoms within our team.

So please keep praying for...
-health!
-our team unity
-that we will continue to hear and obey God's voice and that we will be led by Him in all that we do
-that God will continue to open and soften the hearts of the people we minister to

Thank you all verrrrry much for your very important part in this outreach! :)

Many blessings!

Pictures!

So lots of cool things have been happening lately! God's been touching many peoples' hearts here, and bringing them to Himself! Also, yesterday we got to go into Burma (Myanmar)! Tomorrow until Tuesday we'll be working at English camps. But enough with the talk... on with the pictures! Enjoy! :)

Street Meetings!

Hello again! For the past three days, we've been staying at Pastor Michael's church in Mae Sot. While we've been here, we've mainly been doing "street meetings" in which we go to different places, set up a little sound system, do a dance or two, a couple dramas, a couple testimonies, and share the Gospel. God's doing some really awesome things!! 11 people have accepted Jesus and 2 people have been healed!

One elderly lady had a stomach problem, and she was hunched over, holding her stomach. After we prayed for her, her face was BEAMING and she said through the translator that the pain was gone... she was so excited, and she understood that it was Jesus that did it! And tonight, a couple ladies were telling us that they were SO excited and happy to hear this message about Jesus.

It's very encouraging to see what God is doing here in Thailand. But we can easily feel as if we're "leaving them in the dust"... especially if we don't have a Bible in their own language to give them, etc. So please pray for these people, that God will continue the work He has started in them.

In the not-so-distant future, we will be going to some English camps, to teach English and culture, and to share the Gospel. That's the next thing on the list, along with a refugee camp or two, and some prison ministry. And tomorrow or Monday, we might get to go SWIMMING! The whole team is looking forward to the chance to cool off in a pool or waterfall for awhile. :)

We're all doing fine. Today we were a bit worn out from the heat, but all in all, the mood is upbeat and positive!!

We all love and miss our families and friends back home (((and on the other outreach teams!!!))), but we're glad to be here in Thailand! Thanks for the prayers and thanks for the comments... it's great hearing from you! God blesS!

Til next time...

Meet the Team!

Hello everyone! Soon we'll be leaving for Thailand! Right now we're rushing around, cleaning up our rooms, packing our bags, and having fun with the rest of the people here at the base before we part for two months.

Our flight leaves this Friday morning. We're travelling with the Laos team and we're first flying into Moscow, Russia... then we head off to Bangkok, Thailand!

A short introduction to our team:

Team Role: Stina is the other leader on our team! She is also responsible for drama and dance, along with Solbjørg.

Name: Jan-Michael Beyer
Age: 22
From: Germany
Random Fact: Jan's favorite actor is David Hasslehoff. He and David are "good friends"! :)
Team Role: Jan will be in charge of finances with Sindre.

Name: Kathrine Weld
Age: 20
From: Norway
About Kathrine: You know that you really know Kathrine when you know she's kidding. She can fool almost anyone with her witty sense of humor.
Team Role: Kathrine will be in charge of food for the team!

About Melissa: Melissa has lost count of how many teeth she has had pulled by the dentist... but she thinks it's either 14 or 16.

Name: Solbjørg Reckmann
Age: (almost) 21
From: Norway
About Sol: One day, at 11 years old, Sol decided to take a walk over to her friend's house. On her way there, she noticed that it was just a little bit more cold and breezy than usual. When her friend answered the door, she looked at Sol in an odd way and then asked her where her pants were. Sol simply forgot to put on her pants over her long underwear before going out. :)
Team Role: Sol will be responsible for drama and dance along with Stina, as well as parties along with Melissa.

Yes, that's us! BUT WAIT! There is One more... the most important member... and that would be... GOD! Without God in the middle of our team, we would not be able to function. When Jesus gave the command to "go out and make disciples of all nations...", He included a promise; "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." We are so thankful for His promise to be with us wherever we go and therefore we know that we need not worry or be scared, but we can rest assured, knowing we are in the hands of our Creator. All of us are excited to get going now, and we all appreciate your prayers very much!

God bless you all!
